GrepBeat is a media organization covering all things tech for the Triangle and surrounding area. Through our email newsletter, website, podcasts, and events, we support the region’s tech entrepreneurs in an engaging and colorful way. See https://grepbeat.com.

We seek a full-time Sr. Newsletter Writer to oversee our editorial and programming content for the Triangle market. The right candidate will also serve as a public face at Triangle-centric live events and podcasts/livestream shows.

Here’s what you would do:

• Be the primary writer of our twice-a-week email newsletter that goes out to 4K+ subscribers (50%+ open rates) and is the tip of our content spear.
• Assign, edit, and (sometimes) write stories for our news site, grepbeat.com.
• Manage a small team of full-time, freelance and student reporters.
• Potentially serve as host of a live stream and in-person programs and events.

The ideal candidate has:

• Previous journalism writing and editing experience at a news publications. We are especially interested in experience (and interest) in writing email newsletters.
• Ability to write with a clever, engaging voice that connects with our readers.
• Experience leading a content team.
• Passion for all things tech, startups, and the Triangle as well as the persistence, hustle, and energy to make things happen! Must love our GrepBeat coffee mug, too.
